About the Red Horsehair Fluted Top Vase
Artisan-made in Florida, this striking vase is formed on the pottery wheel and provided with flared top for contemporary pop. The vase is fired using a modern Native American pottery method to create compelling series of intricate black lines in the clay when fired, caused by residual carbon from horse hairs as they burn away. The random, almost electric, effect is quite magnetic, providing eye-catching appeal in any room. Stands approximately 10" tall, .
Note: Each vase is individually thrown and shaped by hand- slight variations in the shape, and horsehair pattern may be expected. Recommended for decorative use or dried flowers only, due to the porous characteristics of the low-fired clay body.
