About the Low-Profile Natural Wood Jewelry Chest
Made by hand in Michigan, this sculpted jewelry box is crafted with quality materials to create a sturdy heirloom-quality piece to hold and protect your favorite jewelry pieces. Designed with a low, slim profile, the box accommodates smaller spaces and maintains a sleek look with a contrasting wood lid. Within the box, the felt-line bottom is separated with maple dividers and includes a padded felt row to hold rings or cuff links. May also be used as a valet! The box is constructed in your choice of natural cherry wood with a bubinga lid or dark Bolivian rosewood with a contrasting maple lid. Both versions feature mitered corners with wenge-wood splines to provide additional strength and sophisticated visual appeal. Wood details : Each box is constructed of all-natural hand-polished hardwoods and given a catalyzed lacquer to provide a clear, durable finish and enhance the natural colors of the wood. Stains are not used. -Cherry : Natural cherry wood is native to North America and is a very light (almost maple-like) color when new. Cherry will naturally darken with age to reveal a reddish-brown tint. -Bubinga : a very durable exotic hardwood native to Africa, not considered an endangered species. It has a warm, lustrous red-brown tone that will darken slightly with age. -Bolivian Rosewood (Pau Ferro) : Often used in the guitars, pau ferro wood is native to South American and has a deep reddish color. Because the tree is not endangered, it is often used as a substitute for true rosewood due to the similar color and strength. -Maple : strong hardwood native to eastern North American with a creamy color. Birdseye and quilted variations in the wood are caused by a natural response within the maple to harsh growing conditions.
