About the Macaw Feather Necklace 

Spread your wings and show off your individuality with this unique reversible necklace!

While working on a Habitat for Humanity project in Central America, our Minnesota jewelry artist became captivated by the rich hues of macaw feathers - an amazing example of Nature as Artist. Today, the artist purchases molted feathers from a bird sanctuary in New Mexico, which support the care of the birds.

The single macaw feather is arranged under hand-cut glass and framed with hand-soldered lead-free silver (the same technique used for stained glass art and authentic Tiffany lamps). Colorful wire-wrapped beads accent feather while an oxidation patina that provides a rich, dark color to the pendant.

Best of all, the necklace provides the benefit of being reversible - the feather is naturally a different color on the opposite side - blue on one side and greenish-yellow on the other! The oxidized sterling silver chain also proves to be versatile - provided at a 22" length, it can be adjusted to any shorter length to perfectly suit your neckline.
