During the American colonial period of the 18th century, colonists hung bird bottles on walls near kitchen gardens, stables, and farmyards to attract nesting birds. The birds rewarded the colonists with natural and necessary insect control.

Inspired by the iinnovation of the colonial bird bottles, this 'peek-a-boo' bottle brings the same creative functionality to the 21st century. Handcrafted of durable stoneware clay, the bird bottle is designed to hang securely upon a single screw (included). Mount on the side of your house, a fence, or any surface that accepts screws. The nesting house is completely frost-proof and is suitable for use in all climates.

> Where should I mount my Peek a Boo Bottle?
Do not hang the bird bottle very close to bird feeders, as the feeder attracts too many close visitors. Do not hang the bird bottle in direct sun on the south side of a wall, as this will result in the bird house being too hot. For best results, mount near bushes or foliage where small birds can perch, search for food, and hide if necessary.

> Why is there no perch on the birdhouse?
It is recommended that perches be used only for bird feeders, not birdhouses, as the perch can provide access to potential predators. Birds can easily enter without the use of a perch.
