About the Stork Angel Newborn Guardian 

Artist Amy Goldstein-Rice interweaves decorative ceramic artworks with narrative animal imagery. The clay medium allows her to capture the whimsical nature of a creature along with the meaningful narrative of the image. Her Stork Angel is an allegorical synthesis of three figurative entities :

The Stork - a symbol of childbirth in Western culture
The Angel - guardianship symbol, personifying divinity and spirituality
The Fish - represents baptism and miracles in Christianity, and happiness and freedom in Buddhism. Furthermore, Celtic lore regarded the fish as a sign of wisdom and birth.

With olive leaf in hand (also an image for goodwill), the Stork Angel stands as guardian upon the wall, providing symbolic protection to a newborn child or as lively symbolism for the home. 

Please note: Each stork angel sculpture is individually handcrafted in white earthenware clay one a time, resulting in slight variations in the size and shape. Approximate height is 13 inches.
