Shipping Information
We strive to ship all in-stock items within 24 hours (or next business day) following your order. All orders ship from North Carolina, unless otherwise noted in the product details.
Standard Ground Shipping: US customers should expect to receive your order within 2-10 business days via FedEx or the US Postal Service. Some oversized products ship directly from the artisan's studio and will take longer to arrive. These items are noted in the product description.
Expedited Shipping: You should expect the package to arrive in 1-3 business days via FedEx or the US Postal Service. Most expedited shipments ship the same day if received by 1:00 PM EST (10AM PST). This applies to US residents only.
Shipping charges are value-based rates as shown in the table below.

International orders and shipping cost:
Modern Artisans currently ships to all of the 50 United States as well as all APO/FPO addresses, Puerto Rico, and US Territories with the shipping costs listed in the table above.
We are also happy to ship internationally. Residents of the UK, Ireland, France, Finland, Denmark, Austria, Belgium, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Luxembourg, Japan, New Zealand, Australia and Canada may also place an order for delivery via Global Priority Mail via the US Post. Please note that the shipping charges listed above will not apply to international shipments. Actual shipping charges will apply to your order, based upon the shipping weight and destination. You may contact us via email to receive a shipping quote. Otherwise, you will receive an email with the estimated shipping charges after placing your order. Shipping Services:
We will use FedEx or the US Postal Service to deliver your order. FedEx requires a street mailing address. However, we will ship orders to a PO Box, APO, FPO, or international address via the US Postal Service (Priority Mail). Please be aware that expedited shipping is not available for APO or FPO addresses.
Package Tracking:
If FedEx is used to ship your order, an email will be sent with a tracking number and a link to track your package. This tracking number can also be entered manually at the following web address:

If the US Postal Service is used, you will receive a delivery cofirmation number which can be used to confirm the delivery of your shipment.

Return Policy
We guarantee your complete satisfaction. If for any reason you are not happy with your purchase, you may simply return it for a full refund of
merchandise cost or an exchange within 30 days of receipt
of your purchase.
The item must be returned in its' original condition. You will be responsible for the proper packaging of the return. The product price will be refunded in full. Shipping charges are non-refundable for general returns.

In the instance of a defective/broken product or incorrect order, we will gladly replace the item free of charge or refund all costs (including shipping charges) associated with the purchase. To be eligible for full a full replacement or refund for a defective or broken item, contact us within 10 days of delivery. After 10 days, the item may be subject to our standard 30-day return policy.
In the instance of a refused or unclaimed shipment, shipping charges will not be refunded.
When will I be credited for my return?
We credit your account as soon as we process your return and receive the merchandise, generally within 1 to 5 business days following the receipt of the return. Check with your bank or credit card institution to see when they will report the credit to your account.

When you place an order with us, your account is automatically created. You will receive an automated password via email to use when signing in to your account in the future. Although it is not required, you may sign in to your account to access saved address information during future orders.

do I place an order?
It’s easy. First click on the product image or product
name to view the item details. Should you decide to purchase
this item, add it to your order by simply clicking the “Add
to Cart” button. You will be taken to your personal
shopping cart where this item has now been added. You may
continue to shop by clicking the “Continue Shopping”
button or you may begin your checkout. To checkout you will
be asked for billing, shipping and payment information.
Once this information is complete, just click “Place
Order” button to complete your order. A confirmation
page will display your completed order and you will receive
a confirmation via email as well.

Why
do some items say “sold” or "no longer
available" ?
Some of the items offered by Modern Artisans are one-of-a-kind
or limited edition items. “Sold” or "no
longer available" indicates that this item has been
recently purchased (and is no longer featured in our general navigation). However, you should continue to check
the site often as similar items by the same artisan may
become available.
Will
the item I order look exactly like the picture?
In most instances, yes. However, all items are handcrafted
by an individual, not a factory. Therefore, there may be
slight variations in some products including color and detail.
Even so, we make every effort to make sure that the product
shown is what you will receive.
Can
I request that an item be sent to someone as a gift?
Certainly!
Any item from Modern Artisans can be sent to a gift recipient.
Many
items can be gift wrapped. Items with the following
symbol on the product detail page will offer a gift wrap
option during checkout:

If
the gift wrap option is chosen, you will have the opportunity
to provide a gift message at that time.
For
items that cannot be gift wrapped, you can also let us know
of any special message that you would like to send along
with the item by completing the information on the following

methods of payment do you accept?
Modern Artisans currently accepts Visa, MasterCard, and
American Express.
What
is the 3-digit security code and why do you ask for it (during
checkout)?
The
security code is the last three digits of the code
printed on the back of your Visa or Mastercard credit card (see below for American Express).
This is an added security feature to help prevent fraud.
We ask for this to make your online shopping experience
as safe as possible.
For
American Express cards, this security code
will be 4 digits and is frequently found on the front of
your card (just above the account number) as shown below:
Can
I order by phone?
The preferred method is to place orders online. However,
if you feel uncomfortable with online ordering, you may
call our Toll Free Customer Service Line from 9:00AM to
9:00PM EST at 1-877-848-0957.
Will
I be charged sales tax?
We are required to collect sales tax for shipments to North
Carolina only. If your shipping address is outside the State
of North Carolina you will not be charged a sales tax. For
North Carolina shipments, the current sales tax rate is
6.75% which is added automatically to the merchandise total.
How
do I pay with a Modern Artisans gift certificate?
Simply place your items in the shopping cart and proceed
to checkout. After completing the shipping information,
enter your gift certificate code in the field provided.
How
do I know if I placed my order successfully?
After completing your checkout process, a confirmation page
will display your completed order and you will receive a
confirmation via email as well.
How
will my shipping charges be calculated?
Unlike many companies, we do not pad our shipping charges
with extra handling fees. Shipping charges are flat value-based
rates as shown in the table below. We ship all in-stock
items immediately after receiving your order. However, you
should allow up to two weeks after the shipment date to
receive your order. For items that are on back-order, please
allow extra time.
